Rotary Club of Ballarat East

Thank you for your generous donation to assist with our Trivia Night for the Homeless. I am thrilled to report that the Trivia Night was a great success and we have raised more than $10,000. These funds will be distributed to Uniting Care and other agencies in Ballarat, to enable the purchase and provision of blankets and other necessities to make lives of many members of our community a little easier and more comfortable through Ballarat’s long winter. We would not have been able to achieve such a fantastic result without the support of local businesses such as yours and we greatly appreciate your willingness to help us in our efforts to make a difference in our community.

Thank you again.

With kind regards,

Emma Glisson – President – Rotary Club of Ballarat East

23 July 2018

Dear Interknit people and staff,

On behalf of the Rotary Club of Ballarat East, I would like to thank you for your kind donation of clothing to support our Trivia Night next Saturday.

It is through companies like yours that we can continue to help the community, in this case the homeless.

We have had donations from about 50 firms in Ballarat to support this function.  The articles donated will be distributed through Uniting Care who are the lead agency for homeless in Ballarat.  The clothing donated by you will make the plight of the homeless a little easier.

Interknit will be listed on the program and mentioned by the MC as well on the night. Thank you once again.

Kind regards,

Gavin Drew

Friends of India Network

Friends of India Network (FIN) is a community group that aims to bring together Ballarat residents of Indian origin, and the local community, to make contribution to community projects here in Ballarat. It’s an all-inclusive group welcoming people from all communities and not just Indian. We also do not have affiliations of any nature and are completely independent with vision of engendering harmony, unity, progress and cultural awareness and mission for raising funds for community and fostering solidarity.

In Feb 2020, our Annual Fundraiser will endeavour to help with development of “Fast Track” facility for Ballarat Health Services Emergency Department.

Fast track(FT) is a steaming system whereby the triage nurse identifies those patients they have triaged as suitable for FT based on set criteria. Essentially they are the walking wounded who can be assessed and treated in a chair and under 2 hours. The FastTrack system allows ED staff to see simultaneously the sickest patients and those who have more minor complaints. It aids congestion in the waiting room and improves patient satisfaction. It is high turnover medicine and medically quite satisfying and we “treat and street”.

As residents of Ballarat many of us have faced this agonising waiting time in ED – whether a loved one is needing attention for acute or chronic illness. FIN would like to help ED with this project and your contribution big or small will make us realise this dream.

Branberry and Interknit have pledged $798 of goods and services to this fundraiser including five customised scarves as prizes for the cricket match held same day and homewares for the auction.
